Preparing for Everything Coming

Firstly, I just wanted to thank everything for bearing with me throughout a pretty chaotic past year in my life. I know I've said it a million times, but I am incredibly grateful for the type of community we have. In a TCG era that is often filled with all kinds of drama, intensity and wavering chaos - waking up every day, creating for this game, and being part of this community is something I wouldn't change for the world. I think the community really embraces exactly what the Fabled-S world is all about; it's magical, it's fun, it's collaborative, it's pretty (*blushes*), and it's a perfect escape into something different. So I just want to continue to say how grateful I am for everyone being so unbelievably chill during this lull. But that lull, has come to an end. Prepare... for... chaos.
Did Anything Fun Happen During the Lull?
The "lull", wasn't simply just chill time. The team continued to work their magic in constantly evolving this game into something that stays ever-growing. As many of you know, one of the reasons for the delay was that we needed to continue a serious revamp in game mechanics, grammar, and many other things involving gameplay. This included working on a new system of reference to have active during development, amongst many other things. With these new instances set up, we believe that its impact to how cards and sets are developed is going to help with an extremely streamlined and beneficial process. Beyond that, the initial development of Re:Forged Vol. 1, as well as Ashen Ascent were set up in full.
What's Coming Next?
Festival of Fusumbre II is now a short hop away, if you missed the picture of some of the uncut sheets from the printer, let me know and I'll share them again. Beyond that we are also now looking forward to; Festival of Fusumbre Canvas Edition Packs, Rukk & Lady Z Collaborative Packs, the Pigmint Kasai Singles, Valentine's Promo Packs, Clear Series 3 Packs, Keystone 4 Packs, and all new Tournament Pack that will stay exclusively as a gameplay reward. Clear Series 3 and Keystone 4 will come shortly after the previous sets listed. Below I'll go into some smaller details regarding each release.
Festival of Fusumbre II & Canvas Edition
As many of us know, and have experienced with previous releases, product often disappears fairly quickly. While this looks great from a certain stance, it can also be quite detrimental to a game that's trying to grow. Even when we upped the Sanguine Bloom pack counts, it still happened fairly quickly. This is why Festival of Fusumbre II took another decent sized jump in the amount being printed - around 10,000 packs. With the support from the stores and the confidence from the community, we felt comfortable upping the original numbers a tad. The lull ironically gave us a little more time and allowed us to incorporate a few more cards and other bigger chases into the set to hopefully help combat and work smoothly with the higher pack run. The hope is that this ultimately allows product to hang around a little bit longer. During releases, we often see new people coming into the game, but things disappear so quickly that they don't really ever have a chance to open product. Because of that, newcomers can turn away extremely quickly. Why bother getting invested in the game if you can't actually open anything?
The above also applies to the Canvas Edition of Fusumbre. While the early, early pre-orders originally got 1 free pack for every 5 Festival of Fusumbre II Packs they pre-ordered, this led to an extremely small quantity of these new Canvas Packs - and some extremely unbalanced ratios when comparing to previous Canvas quantities. (The original canvas populations were about 100 of each card.) This led to the quantities of these new Canvas cards having a population of only around 30. Which again, may sound nice to some... but also kind of defeats the purpose of having more product around to continue to push game growth. In turn, the population of these packs have increased, which means two things. People who originally early pre-ordered will be getting some additional Canvas Packs for free in their shipments - and, a small amount of Canvas Packs will be available for shops if they want any additionals.
While I won't go into hard details on rates here for Fusumbre, hitting anything Gold Script and up will be about 1:14 Packs. This includes; Alternate Art Gold Scripts, Alternate Art Monochrome Scripts, Alternate Art Rainbow Scripts /10, Sketches, Entropies /6, and 1/1s.
Valentine's Promotional Packs
Not much has changed here, the quantity of packs stays the same at around 1,000. And it still includes the new Overframe rarity. These will be arriving shortly after Festival of Fusumbre II arrives. There may be a few extras available but it's something I'd have to double check first. If there are, they'll just magically appear without warning.
Rukk & Lady Z Collaborative Packs
I am limited to the details I can share on this. Many of you know Rukk & Lady Z, and I've left the release information and details of what they want to share completely up to them. There will be about 1,000 packs and similar to the Kumiho Packs, they will have Base Foils, Gold Scripts, Monochrome Scripts, Rainbow Scripts /10, and Sketches. The only difference is, there is a card for each Rukk, and Lady Z. It is a dual art vertical illustration and it's the very first one of those we've done. So we're all extremely excited to see them get ripped in the near future alongside Festival of Fusumbre II.
Tournament Packs
Because of Re:Forged Vol.1 being the next large Booster Box set. We're utilizing its release as a way to make a larger gameplay push for the game. Coming alongside Re:Forged (possibly before), will be all new tournament packs that are exclusive to gameplay. There will be dedicated packs and pull rates for Top 8, Top 4, etc. Alongside this will also be a brand new searchable Master Card Index and a new schedule for consisntent and different levels of tournaments, Magus Tower and so on.
Well, that was a little longer than expected.
Because this got a little lengthy, I'll go ahead and talk more on Clear Series 3 and Keystone 4 in the next article. I hope these provide a little more clarity as we move into a new, exciting era and thank you again to everyone for being such a fun, lively, caring community. I promise that there's plenty of fun to come.
(Also, just another massive thank you to the team. They do so much work behind the scenes that no one really ever sees and they often never get thank you's for. But simply put, this game would absolutely be non-existent without every single one of them. If you ever see them in chat, make sure you say hi!)
